Feature Wine - 2016 Pinot Gris

The South Okanagan style of the 2016 Burrowing Owl Pinot Gris shows great aromatic complexity, substance and freshness. Bartlett pear, honeydew melon, peach, and apricot build up on the nose with hints of grapefruit, apple blossom and honeycomb, combined with mineral and herbal undertones. It is dry with layers of tropical and orchard fruits wrapped with refreshing citrus and key lime flavours that linger on the palate.

Enjoy its unique character as a standalone wine or pair with richly flavoured dishes like roasted peach and ginger chicken thighs or grilled calamari skewers with bell pepper and garlic aioli. 

New 80 Amp EV Supercharging Stations Coming Soon!

Live from the grapevine!

Much has been said about the wet winter & spring in BC and how it may or may not impact the 2017 vintage, so here are a few fun facts as we look ahead to the growing season:

Burrowing Owl Estate Winery started business operations in 1997, and 1997 & 1998 were two of the wettest springs in recent memory. Despite the precipitation, 1998 is still the hottest growing season (measured in “Growing Degree Days”) on record for Burrowing Owl, and was a vintage that produced spectacular wines.

So, we will hold off making any predictions about the 2017 vintage at this stage, and shall see what mother nature brings!
